This is an audio clip of Ustad Shahid Parvez playing Raag Jaijiawant recorded live in Lahore Pakistan, courtesy of Dr. Hassan Azad. Dr. Azad has also provided notation of the gaat- which is a classical composition of the Agra Gharana - and faster passages to accompany the recording, which only occupy a few minutes; the rest is all 'meend' work. The notation is for educative purposes only.

The recording was made with a digital camera and it is not a professional recording. The feed back from the audience has not been edited as this has captured the live atmosphere nicely .
IMHO this is an excellent presentation of Jaijaiwanti and USP shows his incredible virtuosity in developing the raag.
The notation has been provided in PDF format. Colours were used in the notation to distinguish different octaves. Blue was used for the lower octave (mandir saptak) and red was the higher ocatave (taar saptak).
